Yes, natural settling and clumps are expected. Our serum is intentionally formulated without fillers or suspension agents. Because of this, natural settling and clumps are expected. You may notice small white or beige particles - these are simply the carriers for the bacterial strains. As the serum is used, these particles become more uniform and form a fine beige sediment at the bottom.

How to Use the Serum:

  • Shake vigorously until the sediment is fully dispersed into the liquid. Apply as usual - any visible particles melt into the skin.
  • Once the bottle is set down, the ingredients will naturally settle again. This is perfectly normal. Simply shake before each application.
  • Temperature during shipping can also play a role-colder regions may see slightly tighter particle clusters at first, while other areas won’t see it at all. A few extra shakes will always bring everything back into a fine, even consistency.

What to expect from your serum

Our serum is made without fillers, suspension agents, or added fragrance, so it may look and smell a little different from other skincare you have used. Here is a quick guide to what you’ll notice.

Is clumping expected?

Yes, and the particles won’t fully disappear.

Nothing in the bottle is there to hold the particles (the Bacillus spores) in place or make them invisible, so natural settling and clumping are part of how it looks.

Shaking lifts the particles and spreads them through the liquid. It does not dissolve them. You will still see them after shaking, in a range of sizes, and that is exactly what you should see. They melt into the skin on application.

Where does the scent come from?

It’s the natural scent of our ingredients, and it fades quickly.

Our serum does not contain any added fragrance. The compounds used in added fragrances can compromise the skin microbiome, so we leave them out of the formula completely.

The scent you notice comes from the biocompatible ingredients themselves. It is unique to our serum and part of what makes it our formula.

The scent dissipates quickly after application, so it will not linger on your skin through the day.
